Steinitz - Chess Colums of the Field vol.1 (1873-1876). Livre historique en anglais sur le jeu d'échecs. Famous chess column in The Field was published in 1853-1854, 1858-1869 and then more than 125 years between 1870-1994. Wilhelm Steinitz was editor in 1873-1882, the column under him was published weekly and usually covers one full page of large size. This volume covers first four years under Steinitz, from January 4, 1873 through December 30, 1876 and contains about 200 columns. These 4 years include more than 200 annotated games, ca 200 problems, news, articles etc. Text and diagrams are occasionally somewhat indistinct, probably due to low quality of original pattern.
